For 30 years, the Acker family called Marathon, Florida Keys, home before returning to Victoria in 2019. Dewey founded Acker Marine Survey in 1989, where he continued to embrace his love for salt life. While an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Victoria, he also remained dedicated to the Marathon Community Methodist Church. Dewey’s greatest achievement was establishing the first TV station, KXIX in 1976, serving Victoria and its neighboring counties.
