Dennis Reece Lovel, 76, of Victoria, passed away on September 19, 2023. Dennis was born August 27, 1947, in Victoria to the late Jane Fox and Melvin Lovel. Dennis graduated high school in 1965 enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. When he returned he attended The Victoria College. Dennis was a consultant for many years in the oil/gas industry and was the owner of Production Equipment. Dennis also owned Stockbauer Auto Care and D & L Car Wash throughout his career. He was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball. He was an avid bowler and even had his “special” name on his bowling balls. Dennis had his pilot license and owned several planes, he enjoyed being in the sky just flying. He was a great jokester and had the best, quickest comebacks for anyone. Dennis was a hard worker and had a very strong work ethic. He never met a stranger and would always lend help to anyone in need. His big personality and friendship will be missed by many.
Dennis is survived by his daughters, Denise Gabrysch (Ron), and Kelli Lovel (Bubba Groll); companion of 19 years, Kathy Monney; sisters; Judy Mikeska, and LuAnn O’Connor (T. Michael) and his grandchildren, Tristan and Trent Gabrysch and Laci Lovel. He also leaves behind his faithful 4-legged companion, Jake.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Gage Lovel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel from 5-7 PM.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10 AM at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Burial with full military honors under the auspices of The Victoria Veterans Council will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ron Gabrysch, Bubba Groll, Reg Duncombe, Gary McClain, Tristan Gabrysch, and Trent Gabrysch.
