Caldwell--Della Grace West, 87, formerly of Seadrift, left this world to be with her Lord and personal Saviour February 8, 2015. She was born April 19, 1927 to the late Samuel Edward and Gladys Grace Cook Scivally in Port Lavaca, Texas. She was a life-long resident of Texas and spent most of her childhood in Seadrift, graduating high school from Port Lavaca. She became the devoted wife of Clyde William West on April 12, 1946, starting a family and relishing in nearly 69 years of marriage. In 1963, they moved to Kenedy, where they took up residence and spent 30 years together, touching many hearts and lives. She was a very faithful, God-fearing woman, leading her home and family by purposeful example over the years. In 1993, she and her husband moved to Victoria to reside until most recently moving to Caldwell due to declining health issues.
Grace, as most of her family and friends knew her, enjoyed the "simple" things in life. If you were privileged to really know her, you knew she was proud to keep an immaculate home and loved cooking and spending time with her family. She loved the outdoors as well and would spend hours working outside in her yard and garden, admiring all of God's creations. She spent many hours studying God's word and worshiping His Greatness. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts in her spare time. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and great-grandmother and her earthly presence will be missed immensely.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Samuel Edward Scivally, Jr. as well as 2 nephews: Nathan Smith and Doug Scivally and 2 brothers-in-law: Samuel Stapleton and Dewey Smith.
