On January 23, 2018 the Lord took Bobby Johnson by the hand and led him to Heaven. Bobby was born August 28, 1936 in Ft. Worth to the late Alvah L. and Jimmie Jones Johnson. Bobby was a self-taught musician who taught himself to play every stringed instrument. He did praise music at the nursing home and wrote a wide range of gospel music. Bobby owned a welding shop, a gun shop, a craft store; he collected antique cars, violins and locomotive watches. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Inez.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lillie Mae Laza Johnson of Victoria; daughters, Linda May of Victoria, Brenda Duval (Larry) of Schroeder, Janet Aguilar and Susie Johnson (Chris), both of Victoria; son, Jimmy Wayne (Tina) Johnson of Placedo; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Eugene Johnson, granddaughter, Kathleen Johnson, and grandsons, Justin Johnson and Brandon Talkington.
Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Brother Jack Bourland officiating. Burial will follow in Nursery Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian May, Bradley May, George Drew, Watson Talkington, Billy Bob Aguilar and August Sacky.
