Bobby Gene Hoffman

Bobby Gene Hoffman, 77, of Victoria passed away Monday, December 17, 2012. He was born May 2, 1935 in Waelder, Texas, to the late Homer C. and Robbie McVea Hoffman. Bobby retired from Du Pont as a production superintendent after 40 years of service. He and his wife are a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

We are saddened by the sudden passing of a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, and loyal friend, but we find joy in God's perfect peace and love. A great man can be measured by his influence on others. Bobby G. Hoffman was truly a great man whose legacy will continue to prosper through the many lives he touched. While his passing was unexpected, the outpouring of love and support we have received was familiar and comforting, a testament to his caring nature. Our beloved companion will be dearly missed but his character and presence will always be with us. And we remember that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Dick Hoffman of Victoria; daughters, Barbara Strauss and her husband, Craig of Pearland, Donna Griffin and her husband, Paul of Longview, Robbie Fauverque and her husband, Brad of Dallas, Conni Simpson and her husband, Keith of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Kathy Pekar and her husband, Brian of Corpus Christi; sister, Gladys Duplantis of Owensboro, Kentucky; brother H. C. ”Connie” Hoffman, Jr. of Arvada, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday, December 21, 2012, at Trinity Episcopal Church, Rev. Bur Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Erica Graff, Ashleigh Griffin, Meghan Graff, Chas Roberts, Larkin Griffin, Andrew Graff, Alec Cotton and Conner Simpson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Elder, Craig Strauss, Paul Griffin, Brad Fauvergue, Keith Simpson and Brian Pekar.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Victoria Parks and Recreation Department, in memory of Bobby G. Hoffman for the Victoria Memorial Rose Garden, P. O. Box 1758, Victoria, Texas, 77902.
