He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Deborah Waida Yandell of Victoria; daughter, Nicole Wilkins and husband Alden of Cedar Park; son, Jason Yandell and wife Amanda of Victoria; four grandchildren; Chloe and Liam Wilkins and Lynleigh and Walker Yandell; sister, Melodie Gregory of Victoria; brother, Keith Yandell of Victoria.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Morris Yandell.
Billy began his career at Halliburton where he worked as a cementer for many years. The latter part of his career was spent as an independent oilfield consultant. With the last year being spent practicing being retired.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed most all shooting sports, fishing and hunting. He was able to pass this knowledge on while he was the 4-H shotgun leader. He loved spending time at the gun shops telling tall tales with the guys.
He loved his family dearly and had the biggest heart, especially when it came to his grandchildren and his faithful companion, Abby. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by those that loved him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 6-7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels with a Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Duncan, Preston Fishbeck, Tom Scott, Charlie Wagner, Larry Cornejo, Tom Kroll, Curtis Connally and Calvin Scherer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Bagnall, Greg Waida, Larry Waida and Russell Hofer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
