Betty Joyce Casey Goynes, 87, of Victoria, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Victoria. She was born on October 9, 1933 in Three Rivers, Texas to the late Luther Penn and Birdie Lucille Butler Casey. She married the love of her life, Stephan Augustus Goynes on November 7, 1950, and to this union were born, Betty Lou, Brenda Joyce, Beverly Anne, and Stephan Augustus Jr.
Throughout her life, she worked as a Secretary for First National Bank of Goliad, as a Teacher’s Aide for the Goliad Independent School District, and was the Secretary for the Goliad Superintendent, from which she retired. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Stephan Augustus Goynes, daughters; Betty Lou Goynes, and Beverly Anne Goynes Tope, and son; Stephan Augustus Goynes Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Ashton, of Victoria, granddaughter; Gina Lyzette Davis Bell and husband Brian, as well as great granddaughter, Magdalynn June Bell, all of Florida.
Visitation will held from 6-8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad, immediately followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Ty Bazar officiating. Burial will follow at Gussettville Cemetery in George West at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Crawford, Lonnie Gregorcyk, Mike Goynes, Rodney Kolb, Doug Mundine, Ken Stolte, and Steve Rouke.
