Barbara Kelly Mueller Gawthorne

Barbara Kelly Mueller Gawthorne, age 76, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was born September 6, 1936 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late William F. Kelly Sr., and Leah Geyer Kelly. She was a charter member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She was a realtor for the Leo Agency, and a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed traveling and reading. She was very special to her family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Kelly Mueller and wife, Lesley Evensen of Berkeley, California and Bruce Nathan Mueller and partner, David Silva of Dallas; daughter, Diane Kathryn Mueller Chavez of Annandale, Virginia; brother, William “Bill” Kelly II and wife Olinda of Victoria; sister, Kathleen Kay “Kitty” Urban and husband Bill of Kingston, Washington; step-brother, Emerson Geyer of Peosta, Iowa; sister-in-law, Gladys Mueller of Yorktown; grandson, Austin Michael Chavez of Annandale, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Otto Mueller; step-mother, Lois Kelly.

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, June 7, 2013 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Among those serving as pallbearers will be William Urban, Dale Fowler, Johnathan Urban, Phil Mueller, David Urban and Charles Mueller. Honorary pallbearers include Phyllis Siewinski, Jimmy McGhee, Gloria Spell, and Barbara Mueller.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church or Hospice of South Texas.
