Harry Alan Sandberg, 59, of Victoria, went to be with our Lord Jesus on October 23, 2012. He was born on April 27, 1953, in Austin, to the late Harry Alvin Sandberg, Jr. and Dorothy Carlson Sandberg. Alan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Chemical Engineering and began his career at DuPont where he worked for 35 years, most currently as Senior I.T. Leader at the Victoria and Corpus Christi plants. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church where he served as elder and Sunday School leader. With a true servant’s heart, he loved his family and friends and served wherever there was a need. Alan is survived by his wife Trudie Moses Sandberg; son Ryan Payne, daughter Christa Shuman and husband Clint, and son Clinton Sandberg and wife Laura; grandchildren Troy Nunn-Payne, Courtney Shuman, Colby Shuman and Marlow Payne; sisters Jeanne Koonce and Nancy Watson and husband Luke; brother Kevin Sandberg and wife Audrey; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 Mockingbird Ln. Viewing will begin again on Saturday at 10 am at the Fellowship Bible Church with the funeral service at 1:00 PM Saturday at Fellowship Bible Church, 3401 N. Ben Jordan. Graveside services will be at 5:00 p.m. at Burns Cemetery in Blue, TX. Pallbearers will be nephews David Koonce, Todd Koonce, Keaton Sandberg, Cooper Sandberg, Derek Spillar and Jimmy Wayne Johnson.
