Born, raised and lived most of her life in Toronto, mom was a Toronto girl forever in her heart.
Mom took great pride in being well dressed. She was a born shopper with a sharp eye for great clothes. She loved clothes, jewelry and sweets. Her home was always a great delight to the grandchildren and great grandchildren as it was known as the house well stocked of sweets of all kinds.
Mom loved people watching and children and she could be found handing out loose change to little ones in the mall.
Mom was the best when it came to caring for us if we happened to be ill.
Mom was also known to be very feisty in nature right to the end. Proudly she lived independently right up to the end at Parkwood Place on Shelbourne St. And she shopped for clothes right up to the very last week.
Mom was fortunate to have truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and gave them many memories. Shopping in malls, the Dollar Store, lunches at Tim Hortons, family gatherings and her favorite time of year Christmas. Plus the many adventures in the last couple of years.
Mom had a special bond with her great grandchild Onyx.
They spent many hours together, playing memory games and puzzles, or enjoying the Butterfly Gardens.
Special mention to Mimo, who gave her needed kisses and sat on her lap at any chance.
Mom was the last man standing as her parents, Alma Osbourne Stevenson and Thomas Hay, her brothers Bud, John and Leslie Hay, and her husband Henry all predeceased her.
Lovingly remembered by her children Lori (Michael), Scott, Mark (Alison)
Her grandchildren, Melissa, Andrew (Laura), Sabrina (Keith), Sierra (Simon)
Her great grandchildren Lloyd, Sapphire, Onyx and Mica.
We thank you for everything that you have done for us and we know that you are still around us in spirit. We have felt your special magic. Everywhere we look, we see you. We will miss you and we love you.
No service as per her request.
A celebration of life for mom on July 15 2023.
