WHITE (nee LINDSAY), Sarah (Moira) Cameron passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, April 23, 2017. She spent her last week and days surrounded by family who are deeply mourning her loss. Moira was born on December 15, 1925 in Renfrew, Scotland where she met the love of her life, Charlie White (predeceased). They were married for 62 years and Moira missed him dearly. Moira followed Charlie to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1952 where she and Charlie raised three children. Before her marriage, and moving to Canada, Moira worked for Singers Factory in Glasgow. In Canada, she had a long career in retail sales with Woolco and Eatons. Her primary focus was always her home, her husband, and her children (and eventually grandchildren and great-grandchildren). She loved a good joke, a little dance, and singing the wee Scottish ditties. Moira is survived by her son, Gordon White (Noreen), daughters, Helen Boyce and Roberta Savard; grandchildren, Robert Boyce and David Boyce (Jennith James), Cameron White (Robyn), Kyle White, Jeremy Savard and Jessica Savard; great-grandchildren, Liam Boyce, Araya Boyce, Taiya Savard and Casey White; her sister, Helen Phin (Robert) of Renfrew, Scotland; many nieces and nephews and other family. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial remembrances can be made in the form of a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to all of the care workers, nurses, and doctors who treated mom with kindness and respect. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Neil Crofton and his assistant Beverly for their care over the years. A special note of gratitude to Maisie Yuill, Moira’s sister-in-law, for her many years of companionship and support. We also thank the many friends, family, and neighbors (Bob and Audrey Jubien) who visited and assisted mom over the years. We are grateful for your friendship. The family will be holding a private celebration of life.
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria, BC.
