Reg Gladstone Sr spent many years on the water as a commercial fisherman up and down the coast. When the seasons were off he taught himself how to carve gold, silver, copper who became a world renowned carver in first nations jewellery, with pieces all around the world. He dabbled in first Nations prints as well. He was loved by many, with a soft demeanor and big heart are words that keep being brought up. Reg originally from Bella Bella has been in Saanich for 55 years, alongside his best friend and wife Linda. They traveled to many places making memories and having fun along the way. Reg had so much love for his two boys Reg Jr and Ian, he taught them to commercial fish as well. Supported them through hockey and ball, and shared his love with Vikki. He leaves behind lasting memories for supporting his grandchildren through hockey, ball, school plays, anything they were in he was there cheering them on and encouraging. He was so proud of his family. His legacy lives on with special bonds with nieces, nephews, and many cousins as well as God children. He had many memories and so much love for his five brothers and one sister. Reg kept in touch with a few fishing buddies and was fond of their friendships. He also was friends with most of the jewelry shops up and down the island as well.
It's not Goodbye but more of we'll see each other again.
