Peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016, Peggy Thompson (nee Catherine Margaret Mary Villeneuve) of Ottawa, Ontario passed away at age 84 with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Maynard Cameron Thompson of East Templeton, Quebec. She is predeceased by one baby son, youngest son David, father Andrew, mother Ida Tierney, brothers Randy and Lorne (Alice). Survived by sons Daniel (Barbara), Joel (Gaynor), daughter Rhonda (David); brother Kenneth (Barbara) of Prescott, Ontario, sisters Shirley (Bill) of Ottawa, Ontario and Gail (Reg) of Cowichan Bay, B.C.; grandchildren Lauren (Duncan) and Julia; great grandchild Kara and a second expected.
Peggy worked for Directorate of Scientific Intelligence, NDHQ Ottawa and Directorate of Military Intelligence. She married Maynard in 1953 and they built their first home in Cantley, Quebec. In 1963 the family moved to Germany, enjoying much travel during their three year stay and returned to live in Victoria, B.C. Peggy retired from Queen's Harbour Master, Esquimalt to their beloved "Ravenswood" in 1992. Peggy was kind, witty, cheerful and gave her all to family and family life. She especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great grandchild. She was stylish, a gracious host, and made everyone feel welcome.
