Les died peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospice, and he and his wife Fran who he married in 1968 appreciate the kind and helpful manner of the staff. Les is also survived by his brother Ray and his wife Dayle, his sister Alice who was predeceased by her husband Rene, and his sister-in-law Geraldine, who was predeceased by her husbands John and Bill; plus Les is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives. Les was also predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Helena and his brother Ken and his wife Mary.
Les was a lover of the great outdoors; he therefore enjoyed walking and hiking from Victoria to Port Hardy, walking and hiking all of the Bruce Trail in Ontario and walking and hiking across England. He also enjoyed climbing many mountains in the Victoria area, and he especially enjoyed climbing Grouse Mountain in Vancouver and Table Mountain in South Africa. Les has requested a private remembrance of his life, and because Les was a victim of child sexual abuse, expressions of sympathy can be made to a Child Sexual Abuse Centre.
