With sadness in our hearts, but a lifetime of fond memories we announce that my beloved and loving wife Laverne lost her fight with dementia and passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Long Term Care with husband Peter and our son Duane by her side. She will be greatly missed by husband Peter of 67 years and son Duane.
Laverne was born in Lake Lenore Sask. on March 26, 1937.
Predeceased by parents Raymond and Margaret Braun; sisters Chris Hanselmann, and Antoinette (Toni) Kowalchuk; sister-in-law Donna Braun; niece Cheryl Kowalchuk; and nephew David Chubak. She is survived by siblings Floyd and Lyle Braun, and many nieces and nephews.
Our sincere thanks to the Home Care aides and the Doctors, Nurses, and all staff of Saanich Peninsula Long Term Care who took such great care of Laverne these past four years.
Please join us in remembering Laverne’s wonderful life on Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 PM at First Memorial Funeral Services 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Laverne’s honour can be made to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation Long-term Care.
