“I’m glad to be home”
The incomparable Julie Johnson has two-stepped out in style, with nails polished and wearing her favourite black and white heels.
Born to Edmond and Phyllis, Julie was raised in Courtenay BC with her brother Gordon and sister Catherine (affectionately known as Lovey). After completing high school, Julie and her cousin Carol moved to Victoria where Julie attended Sprott-Shaw business school. Following graduation, Julie had a wonderful professional career with both the federal and provincial governments but her proudest accomplishments involved her time as a stay-at-home parent and volunteering within her community.
Over her lifetime, Julie faced adversity with poise, humour and a fantastic wardrobe. The simplest pleasures, and a terrific sale, brought great joy. Her bright smile, unwavering love and positive spirit will be deeply missed by her children – Jeanette (Tim), William (Esther) and John; her grandchildren – Shaelyn, Kayley, Oliver, Pierson and Jackson; extended family, many friends and her beloved companion, Muffin.
A celebration of Julie’s life will be held in Courtenay BC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please wear some “bling”, share a smile and consider a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation – a charity near and dear to Julie’s heart.
