Jean had three sisters and four brothers who roamed the hills with Old Chief Mountain the the background.
Jean went to normal school in Calgary and became a teacher. Jean loved teaching and taught in many schools in southern Alberta, eventually settling in Calgary.
She met and married Trevor Paige in 1965 and after retiring, they moved to Vancouver Island in the 1980's.
Jean had many hobbies, including gardening, reading, golf and walking her dog. She volunteered at the local art gallery for many years.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Trevor in 2010, and her brothers - Jay, Kent, Tom and Gerald Leavitt, and her sister, Elda.
She is survived by her four step children, sisters Arlene and Betty and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean passed peacefully away in Victoria after a long and healthy life. She will be dearly missed.
