It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn (Ev) Joan Hardie days before her 98th birthday. Ev was born in Edmonton, Alberta and was predeceased by her husband Al Hardie in 2002, her parents Helen and Raymond Bertrand and her brother Bryan Bertrand.
Ev is remembered with love by her nieces and nephews, many friends in Victoria, Arizona across the US and overseas. Ev and Al's travels took them all over the world, making lifelong friendships along the way. Ev was employed by the BC Government in Water Management and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 60 years. Ev enjoyed life to the fullest, was the most gracious host, a wonderful cook and she aways made everyone welcome. She loved to laugh and enjoyed a glass of wine (with ice) and was so caring.
A special thank you to staff at The Summit (Blue Jay) for their kindness and care they gave to Ev during her stay.
Ev's request is her ashes to be scattered at sea to join Al (together again). In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice 1952 Bay St, Victoria, BC V8R 1J8, Canada, or the BC Cancer Foundation, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.
A Celebration of Life for close friends and family is planned for April 30th at 2:00PM.
