Evelyn was born May 12, 1932 in Vancouver BC and passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020, in Victoria BC, surrounded by her family. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Gordon (2011), as well as and is survived by her sons Raymond (Meghan), Allan (Cathy), David (Rebekah) and her grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Jayme, Randi, Shannon, Kaitlyn and Brendan, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Evelyn grew up in Courtenay and Campbell River, and became a psychiatric nurse working at Riverview Hospital. In 1964, she married her husband Gordon and moved to California where she studied to become a surgical nurse. After moving back to Vancouver Island, Evelyn became a volunteer at the Juan de Fuca Seniors’ Center where she enjoyed managing the library and participating in numerous classes and programs. In 1999, she was recognized as the Senior of the Year by the Westshore Chamber of Commerce and was honoured to officiate at Canada Day celebrations.
Evelyn was devoted to the Westside Bible Church where she loved singing hymns, participating in all the services, and enjoyed watching the children of the church grow up.
A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will take place in the spring.
