OLIVER, Doris Jeanette (nee Preece) March 1, 1925 April 29, 2012 Doris left Central Care Home peacefully early (6:44 am), Sunday April 29, 2012 to pick up Lil and Hazel, to go to the big BINGO game in the sky. We hope she took a GPS so Ray doesn't worry that she gets lost, runs out of gas or gets a speeding ticket. Born March 1, 1925 in Regina, Saskatchewan; moving to Victoria with her father and stepmother as a young girl. Doris graduated from Mt. View High School. She worked at Mac and Macs and when Mac & Macs closed, she worked at Eatons for many years; after retirement she continued to meet with a regular group of coworkers for weekly luncheons followed by a fun afternoon of cards. Doris enjoyed her family, entertaining family and friends in their home; going to Joan and Michelle's horse shows, Dustin's and Kristine's baseball and soccer games and Gord' s soccer games. Doris and Ray always welcomed friends and teammates of the family and friends to enjoy a summer day around the pool and for a swim. She enjoyed bingo, curling, playing cards with good friends, travelling and shopping. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Alice Preece; brother, Ron Preece and her husband, Ray (2005), of 61 years. Doris is survived by daughter, Joan (Walt), Langley; sons, Ken (Barbara), Victoria and Gordon, Victoria; grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Sebring, Langley, Ryan (Natasha) White, Victoria, Dustin (Chrissy) Oliver, Victoria, Kristine Oliver, Vancouver; four beautiful great granddaughters, Montana and Georgia Sebring, Langley, Mia White, Victoria and Brynn Oliver, Victoria, as well as a few surviving very dear life-long friends and numerous nieces and nephews. Great grandma would have loved to shop for her great granddaughters so the onus will be on their respective grandmothers to take over this onerous task! Flowers gratefully declined; if desired, please make a donation to the Altzhiemer's Society or a charity of your choice in Doris' memory.
