Donna Rae Margaret Pearson

PEARSON, Donna Rae Margaret passed away peacefully on June 30th, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born on April 13th, 1938 in Humboldt Saskatchewan to Laura Olive Hickey nee Vandall and Raymond Lawrence Walter Hickey. Donna will be missed beyond words and forever loved by her husband Jim Pearson, daughter Linda and her husband Ahmed, and son Rick and his wife Margaret, and four beautiful granddaughters Claire, Elyse, Meghan and Hannah. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Phil Bouvier.

Donna grew up in Victoria BC and attended St Anne’s Academy. Donna married the love of her life, Jim, in 1958 and together they had two beautiful children. Jim was in the navy and during his naval career moved twice to Dartmouth NS while Donna focussed on being an amazing stay-at-home mother. Once finally back in Victoria and the children older, Donna enjoyed working for several years in administration for the Fairfield Homemakers Society and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

Donna was a very talented seamstress and knitter making many beautiful quilts and handmade sweaters over the years. Donna also enjoyed spending time in her garden or just appreciating her waterfront home. One of Donna’s favourite pleasures was family holidays that included annual trips to Qualicum Bay and the family cabin on Horne Lake. She never turned down a chance to play board games and for years enjoyed playing bridge with family and friends. Donna’s exceptional memory, quick wit and love of laughter will always be remembered

Donna’s family would like to thank the incredible doctors and nurses who provided care for her at Royal Jubilee Hospital and the Palliative Team. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross. A celebration of life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Home, 4725 Falaise Drive, Saanich BC on Saturday September 7th, 2024 between 2pm - 4pm.
