I am so sorry to hear about Dennis' passing.  I never had a chance to know him much, but it is heart warming to learn of his gentle disposition, quick wit, and kindness to others from the other condolences.  I pray you will find God's grace and peace in the ordinary offerings  of each day; and in the times of grief and celebration and remembrance of his life.  God bless you.

Dennis was such a thoughtful, caring person. I could not have asked for a better business mentor and friend. Dennis was always ready to support. He was always quick to offer his services with any farm project in our early days. Matter of fact Dennis’ help with our sub division application was probably the only reason it was successful. Without his help we probably would have lost our farm. Aside from all that… he was surprisingly quick on the racquetball court. After whooping my young backside, he’d ask “You ok there, Boy-oh?” with a wide grin! He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. 

We would like to send our deepest condolences from Eastern Canada.  Dennis was a mentor, friend, and inspiration, especially when I was a young man trying to find my way in the world.  He took a chance on me, hired me, and then mentored me for several years as I slowly learned how the business world worked.   Dennis was always warm-hearted, encouraging, positive, and supportive... even when problems arose!!!   I will always cherish my memories of my time with Dennis and I hope and pray that the rest of His family and friends will do the same... keep in mind that I am now nearly 60 years old, so Dennis's influence on me and my life has spanned decades.

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay when I first came to Victoria than to stay with you and Dennis.
Dennis was not only a kind, generous, and welcoming person but always offered support, help, and advice and I’m truly grateful for that.
There are so many special memories with you and Dennis, e.g. when you took my mum and me sailing, the many special birthday dinners, and when you came to my citizenship ceremony to just name a few.
Dennis will be missed!

We wish you our deepest sympathy and best wishes. Dennis has been such a kindly, friendly and witty presence in our community and we will certainly miss him. I will in particular miss our reminiscences about our childhoods as cousins in rural Saskatchewan many decades ago.

You are to be commended for the loving, caring support you have given to Dennis in these very difficult past few months.

Although it cannot be said that we knew Dennis well, we felt in the  last half dozen years that we had entered a promising friendship that sadly has been cut far too short. Everything that others have written about Dennis rings true to us; his warm welcome, gentle manner, and quick wit; notably his love of sailing and his devotion to you and Toonie.  He will be missed and our thoughts are with you.

Family/Friends of Dennis, we have lost the kindest, most knowledgeable and quick witted of me.   He will be sadly missed, but he made an impact on many lives that will linger.  
And so dear Dennis, until after the revolution.......

My friend, my teacher, my boss. He gave me my first job in Canada five minutes into a phone interview, and told me I was one of the cleverest, kindest, and most fun people he’d met in a long time. I held on to that one statement every single time I needed a confidence boost. He called me Nattie the first time he met me without ever knowing that only some of my closest friends call me that. He taught me and then allowed me the freedom to shine on my own. He made sailing references that I struggled to understand. He loved my cooking, encouraged my wandering lifestyle, and marvelled at how I held it all together some days. He hated tattoos but loved mine because it was mine. He told the best stories, had the quirkiest sense of humour, and the biggest laugh. He loved my family and remembered every little detail about them. He was patient, funny, kind, gentle, and generous to a fault, and I am so honoured to have been a part of his giant life. 
Dennis, you will be so missed. I hope there is a sailboat and the big blue ocean waiting for you somewhere up there!

Dennis was my business partner, my mentor and a dear friend for 24 years.  I’ve been a fortunate recipient of his generosity, sense of humour  &  enjoyed his unique personality over the years. I’ve missed him terribly for many months now & will always treasure my memories of him!
