As a young woman, Barbara worked as a switchboard operator at the Vancouver City Police Department.
She then married, and after giving birth to her first daughter, moved to Victoria BC.
She had 2 more daughters and several dogs throughout her life.
Barbara loved knitting, crochet, petit point, and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed being out in the sun whenever possible, and spent many winters in Mexico and Arizona.
Barb was predeceased by Earl Smith, Albert Calder, her sister Marilyn, and her loving parents Charlie and Violet.
She is survived by her daughters Lyn Johnson, Lea Hoffmann, Lois Gawiuk, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her little dog Jilly.
