Alexander Samuel Medler

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick .

After the long goodbye, Sandy passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 8, 2023. Sandy was the eldest of 7 children and moved from St. John to Victoria when a young child. Sandy and Linda were married in the early 60’s, and moved immediately to the Cowichan Valley. Sandy was an active member of the community, serving as president for the Kinsmen, Gyro, and Chamber of Commerce organizations. He was also a member of the North Cowichan Volunteer Fire Department. Sandy started selling real estate in 1967, and continued to do so for a total of 49 years. Sandy and his family moved back to Victoria in the mid 80’s. Sandy was a long time member of both the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association and the South Vancouver Island Rangers.

Sandy is predeceased by his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, son David (Karen), much loved grandchildren Alex and Sam, daughter Lisa, and many nieces and nephews.

As per Sandy’s wishes, there will be no service. We wish to thank all of those who took such great care of Sandy at Veterans Memorial Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandy’s name to Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge
