Chloe Aileen Grilliot

November 9th, 1999-April 11th, 2024

From the day she was born at Dayton Children’s Hospital on November 9th, 1999, to the time God gave her wings and called her home, Chloe lived her life to the fullest. It was the simple things like running water, bubbles, and balloons that Chloe enjoyed the most. But she didn’t just enjoy those things, she would study and contemplate, fascinated as she would tilt her head and lay it in her hands to have a better look. We always knew that she would be our special blessing and a great gift from God. Every obstacle was thrown at her, but she always managed to pull through. Her tenacity and stubbornness were unmatched. No sickness or disease could bring that girl down.

You could often find Chloe driving around town with her best friend, Danielle. Together, they would drive through cemeteries, shop at the party store for Halloween and Christmas decorations, or just a stroll in the prairie. Chloe needed to add to her collection of cars and popcorn memorabilia. Chloe also enjoyed a great breeze with the windows down on these strolls, which provided the adults with great caution, as Chloe would often throw her toys out of the car and laugh at her cleverness. She always kept you on your toes.

The book of Matthew says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Chloe went to be with the Lord on April 11th, 2024. God blessed Chloe’s grandparents, Roger and Sandy Grilliot, her mother, Beth Grilliot, Danielle Auxier (beloved friend), Aunts and Uncles, Cyndi (Dan) Adam, Lindsey (Seth) Litzenberg, and Kenny (Misty) Grilliot; Great Grandmother, Myrna Gigandet, and seven cousins with countless episodes of laughter and joy. Chloe was met in heaven by her great grandfather Delaine Gehle, Norman Gigandet, and Ralph Grilliot; Great grandmother Alma Grilliot, her special Uncles Edward Nickol and Thomas Henry. The family celebrated her life with private services but asks that any donations be made to Dayton Children’s Hospital in Chloe’s name. Each day was a blessing with her and a reminder that the dignity of life is a God given blessing to always be cherished. Chloe was quite the miracle.

Her heroic strength will live on through the blessing of her organs, solidifying her legacy. She lives on in our hearts and our memories. Remember the little things: when the wind blows, when you see a balloon, or you find a great book with a page ripped out. Cherish the simple things, like Chloe did. Fly High baby girl.
