1930 – 2015
Robert Roy passed away on December 15, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Black Diamond, Alberta on February 25, 1930. His family soon moved to Dollard, Saskatchewan, a community founded by his grandfather. He was raised in Dollard and moved to BC in 1949. In 1957, Bob married his beloved wife, Brenda. Bob and Brenda had three children and eventually called Vernon home after being transferred there in 1976 when employed by the Workers’ Compensation Board. Bob was an avid golfer and bridge player, playing with the Vernon Bridge Club for almost 40 years.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Brenda in 2005. He is survived by his three children: Julie (Al) Pisch, Suzanne (Sid) Seufert and Robert Roy Jr. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three beloved grand-puppies.
In respecting Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, however, a Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Sandpiper Clubhouse 1220 25 Avenue, between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. Parking available outside the Complex Gates on 25 Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Vernon SPCA.
