Neil Findlay Roszell

Neil Findlay Roszell passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 29, 2023, in Vernon, B.C. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 58 years, June. He also leaves behind his four children: Darlene Howard (Merton), Karen Neilly, Duane Roszell (Amber), and Selena Archer, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, Leona Kinequon (Garry), sisters-in-law Sherry, Caroline, Kathryn and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Winnifred, brothers, Melvin, Denzil, Wendell and sister Eileen Swan and her husband Don.

Neil was born on September 10, 1939, near Punnichy, Sask. He was the eldest of six children and enjoyed a happy childhood being raised on the family farm. On May 28, 1965, he married June Gabour in Calgary, AB.

They moved to various places in the prairies before finally settling down in Vernon, BC. Neil was a very kind, patient, and generous person. He was a hard-working man who took pride in his career as a heavy-duty mechanic, even taking specialized training from Terex, which enabled him to repair some of the largest equipment in the world. Even with a demanding job, Neil could always be counted on when any of his children or friends needed help. Neil also enjoyed travelling and was able to explore several different countries. He was never an idle man, in his retirement years he learned woodworking and built furniture for his family. Neil will be deeply missed by his family and friends, as we await the resurrection where he will be reunited with all his loved ones in an earthly paradise, where there will be no sickness or death. Neil’s faith in the Bible’s promises gave him much comfort throughout his illness.

The family would like to thank Dr. Humphries and the nurses and staff at the Hospice House for the excellent care they provided. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Ansdell who went above and beyond in his efforts to help us through this difficult time.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Calmar, Alberta. This service also on Zoom, Meeting ID: 839 8478 0828 Passcode: 1939
