We regret to announce the passing on October 18, 2015 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, of Michael Bruce Blain of Lumby, at the age of 66 years.
Michael was very well known throughout the area for his 30 years as a Paramedic; activities including 4-H, scoutmaster, Lions Club, and Civilian Instructor and Coach with #223 red Lion Air Cadet Squadron. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and lover of the great outdoors, in addition to his career plus farming and motivation many youngsters.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Bruce, in 1980. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Diane; son Karl (Kristine) (and babe), daughter Charlette (Brad) Nelson and grandchildren Leland and Macie. He will be deeply mourned also by his mother, Beda, sister Heather (Bob), and brother Ian (Kathy) and their families, and the numerous foster children that were a part of his life over the past 25 years.
Friends are invited to join the family at a gathering to celebrate Michael’s life, to be held at the Whitevale Community Center in Lumby on Sunday October 25, 2015 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory would be appreciated to either the North Okanagan Hospice Society, or Santa’s Anonymous Society.
