Jack passed away peacefully at Hospice in Vernon, BC on November 24, 2024. Just a few days after his 78th birthday. He will be deeply, sorrowfully missed by Wilma, his wife of 22 years, his son John (Allison) and his stepchildren Tera (Dan) and Torn (Ali). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Cameron, Ainsley, Jordyn, Avery, Cormac and Ian.
Jack was born and educated in Winnipeg and went from there to Calgary, Vancouver Island and Vancouver, working as a police officer, then sales and long haul trucking, finally settling in Vernon in 1994, where he met Wilma at the golf course in 1999.
Jack loved sports and enjoyed his youth playing and coaching hockey. As he got older, that passion turned towards golf and he and Wilma enjoyed many happy years playing golf at VGCC and travelling to beautiful courses on holidays.
His friends were important to him and he always stayed in touch with his special longtime friends, Bob, Gerry & Don, as well as his new Vernon friends, Ron, John, Mel and Gerry to name a few. These friends were a great comfort to him in his final days.
Jack will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all, and also for his love of laughter and jokes (good&bad). We will forever miss his beautiful smile!
A Celebration of Life, hopefully involving some golf, will be held late next spring for better weather and safe travel for all.
