Ernest known as Bill was born March 4, 1931 in Manchester England, where he spent 44 years, and immigrated to Canada in 1975 where he laid down his roots in Oyama, BC.
Bill is predeceased by his wife, Deirdre Simpson and granddaughter Keri Lee Currie.
Survived by his daughters: Wendy Johnston (Curtis), Meg Currie (Bob), Kay Kershaw, and Denise Shields (Jim). Bill was a loving grandfather to 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and extended family who loved him.
Bill will always be remembered for his ability to never take life to seriously and for always being the comedian in the room. Bill touched many lives with his unforgettable personality, his love for boxing and his spontaneous attitude. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
