Dwain enjoyed an exceptional 80 years of life before passing away peacefully with the love of his family on September 18th,
2012 at Vernon, B. C. Dwain was born in Vancouver, B.C. on May 20th, 1932. Life took Dwain in many directions before settling down in Vernon and the Coldstream area for the past 53 years. Dwain was the owner of Johanson Contracting Ltd. and worked throughout the Okanagan and British Columbia. Dwain and Ruth enjoyed travelling and spending time in Arizona and also enjoyed competing in shuffle board. Dwain enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Dwain will be dearly missed by his wife Ruth, to whom he was married for 55 years; his son Dwain Jr. and Sandra; his daughter Michele and Allan Pembleton; grandchildren: Curtis, Jarvis, Adam, and Alyssa; great-granddaughter Ell.
The Memorial Service for Dwain will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Father Dale Normandeau, Celebrant. A private, family only, inurnment will take place in the Coldstream
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Dwain may do so to the McMurtry-Baerg Cancer Centre, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 5L2 or to the North Okanagan Hospice Soceity, 3506-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C.
