Second oldest, and the only girl, with four brothers, Wayne, Don, Gary and Ray.
Married at a very young age to George Fosbery in 1966.
Dorreen and George had three daughters Llana, Bobbi and Shirlie.
Always full of spunk, Dorreen used sheer determination to forge her way through life, right until the end. She worked very hard as a single mom doing everything from being a cook to running her own restaurant and most importantly achieving her post secondary diploma as a LPN while her girls were still young.
She had a heart for caring for young people. She made sure those who entered her home felt welcome. She became the surrogate mom to foster children, children from the extended care wing at VJH, many of her nieces, nephews and many of her daughters friends.
Although sometimes coming across as very matter of fact, her life long friends will tell you she was kind and loyal and always willing to lend a helping hand.
She married her dancing partner for life, Ron Henderson March 26, 1988.
She was very proud of her seven grand children Emma, Kimberlyn, Jessica, Cody, Samantha, Kaytlin and Colton and her newly acquired great grand daughter Emma.
In fact she bragged to all the nurses about them right up until her final day.
She struggled with bouts of pneumonia throughout her life and battled with COPD, Vasculitis, diabetes and renal failure for the last 25 years. In true Dorreen fashion, and to the amazement of her doctors, she fought hard to the very end.
