Donald Ashley Wood, age 71, passed away after a short illness on Friday, April 12, 2019 in Vernon, BC. He was born to Mernie and Desmond Wood on Dec. 26, 1947 in Vancouver. Don traveled after graduating from high school, settling first in Grandforks, BC, where he completed his carpentry certification and then moving to Vernon. Don was a talented carpenter and could build anything. In his retirement he was passionate about the game of golf which he played often with his many friends. He will be deeply missed for his generosity and kindness, his sense of humor and his deep billowing laughter.
Don is survived by his beloved son Jonathan and his grandson Westen, who was the light of his life over the last 6 years. He is also survived by his brother Rick Wood (Gerry) sisters Diane Herod, Holly Brookson and many nieces and nephews. Don will be greatly missed and is remembered with love by Fran Wood and all of the Clarke extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and infant brother, Robert George Wood.
A celebration of life will be held at the Vernon Golf and Country Club on Friday May 24, 2019 at 1:30.
