We miss you, Baba. . . . .
Our mother and grandmother, Anne Carrow, passed away peacefully in Lumby, B.C. on Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 in the presence of her daughters, Barbara and Theresa.
We will remember her for her love, humour, generosity of spirit and sense of justice. Her grandchildren filled her heart with pride and joy. She cherished being out in nature (she preferred weeding to cleaning!) and enjoyed the power of the written word. A brisk walk along the Stanley Park seawall followed by quiet time with a good book was considered a perfect day. She was the first recycler, taught us to be strong and always to follow our dreams. She loved music, singing and a friendly debate. Always welcoming, she spent many an evening making ‘perohy’ with the ‘teenagers’. Her deep faith kept her very involved as a parishioner at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (Vancouver). In her final years, Mom was lovingly cared for by the amazing staff of Noric House in Vernon and Monashee Mews of Lumby. Thank you so much.
A private Ukrainian Catholic Funeral Service was held in Vernon on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013.
