It is heartbreaking to notify the passing of Lorraine Luckie, on Friday Jan 5, 2024, at the age of 71 surrounded by family at the Royal Victoria hospital after a determined fight with cancer which unfortunately was complicated by covid.
Mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Lorraine will be forever missed by her sons Mark (Marie) and Eric (Angela), precious grandchildren Alyssa and Ethan who she adored. Her sisters Marian (Jocelyne), Sheryl, and her twin brother Len (Lise). Also nephews Steven, Patrick, Shane, and nieces Christine, Angela and Jessica. Her long-time friends Pamela and Guy, Jean Marc and Louise also Christa and Larry.
Lorraine was a long-time resident of Verdun where she raised her sons. She was active in various pet forums as well as local Verdun forums. She was an animal lover, her favorite being tigers and on a smaller scale she rescued and fostered many cats, which led to her nickname ’crazy cat lady’. Her sense of humor was unique, sparked with an infectious laugh. She was blessed with a wonderful voice for singing who could harmonize with the best of them, being her brothers Bob, Len and Ken.
Lorraine certainly earned her wings on earth and has gone to join her beloved Ricky, her mother Dolly, her father Carl and her brothers Bob, Brian, and Ken who are all dearly missed. It would be amiss not to mention all of Lorraine’s loved pets who, throughout the years, have passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
The family would like to thank her neighbors and friends as well as the CLSC who provided care, comfort and compassion during her illness while at home. Also, the doctors and nurses in ICU at the Royal Victoria Hospital who exceeded the care given under such dire circumstances.
Fly high amongst the butterflies…You will be greatly missed…
A memorial service will be held at the Laurent Thériault funeral home the 24th of march from 1 pm to 5 pm at 512 Rue de l'Église in Verdun Montreal.
