After spending first half of his life in Malaysia, he moved his family to Montreal, Quebec to start a new life in November 1988 in order for his children to have a better future. He was a patient and loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle to all.
He will be dearly missed by all. A man of few words, he showed his love and devotion to his family by cooking our favorite Chinese and Hainanese meals. He loved entertaining his grandchildren with magic tricks. He was an easygoing person and didin't like to burden anyone. His philosophy of life was to accept life as it is and never complain.
Michael is survived by his wife Janis Siew Ling Lee,
his children Jasmine Yee Ning Lim, Jit Thoong Lim, Jit Hoong Lim and Stephen Jit Lee Lim,
his grandchildren Janey Lim, William Lim, Julia Lim and Paul Dubus,
daughter-in-law Yue Ying Ma,
son-in-law François Dubus,
his brothers Jared Lim, Tang Kuan Lim, Heng Keang Lim,
his sisters Tak Wah Quek, Lim Fong, Lim Eng, Lim Ah Chee
and his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.
We will always remember some of his quotes:
Be brave, be strong.
You cannot teach an old dog new tricks.
You can never love your children enough, love them as much as possible.
