The best memories, I have, of my beloved sister, Yoli , are the ones, during our childhood years. 

When our mom brought you home, I still recall how very happy, I was, to have a baby sister, to help look after. When you were old enough to play with me, we had lots of fun times together, despite our 3yr. difference. My (our) favorite memory was, when mom used to dress us alike and we’d try and fool Dad, as to, who was who, by curling up in a ball. As the years passed, we’d talk about this and the good Ol’ days, when life seemed so simple. Yoli, I loved you then, throughout, and always. I’m thankful to God, that I was able to be with you, the day He called you home. In the meantime, I will carry these memories and more, till I see you again, in a place, that we could only dream of.

I met Yoli in High School.  She lived across the street from Mindy Clark and her Mom Shirley.  Leslie Cameron, Yoli and I partied together!!  Beach, Parties and Concerts!!   Mindy had a driver's License and Shirley's Cadillac and we would all pile into that car and look for fun!!  We stared out at Toes Beach and then moved around.. Bay Street!!  My best Memory of being with Yoli is Drinking and Dancing at parties and concerts!!  Remember the SM Civic??  As the years rolled by and we had families we saw less of each other.  With Face Book we reconnected with lots of old friends and the parties started again..  I watched Yoli go through some very hard times... and She was strong and always stayed true to her real self.   I wish to say Thank You to Madelaine Kolisnyk for hosting Yoli's Birthday Celebration at the Eagles back in August!!  It gave us all a chance to be with Yoli and show her just how much we Loved Her!!  And when this Pandemic is over I look forward to Yoli's Service so that I can come and give her a Proper Goodbye. Rest in peace Yoli, my life long friend. You were so beautiful and so very strong.  Your smile is one I will remember for the rest of my life. You will be so missed.  Blessed be.

I always remember Yoli from back in the day with that big smile,she was always at every gig that we played at. She was a good person and loved by many. RIP Yolanda.

 My memory of my sister, Yoli

At the end of 2017 Yoli was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. We had just lost our sister to cancer in July 2017.  Cancer runs in the family. As our mother and grandmother also died of Cancer. Our Niece Christy also got cancer. 
Yoli was very optimistic that she will beat this cancer no matter what it takes. She did not want to see anyone feel sorry for her. She was one of the strongest girl I knew.. She knew the next year or so would be a temporary setback, and knew what she was facing. But she never lost her sense of humor that suddenly came back slowly after all she's been through, and her beautiful smile would come back shortly before all this as well, but now this, and still brave and smiling. So me being the sensitive sister, I told her I will keep the faith and keep her smiling as much as I can during her fight. She was not going to let the cancer beat her, she would fight till the end. 
Yoli's first grandson was born on the very first day she started her chemotherapy treatment. After treatment that afternoon she went straight to the hospital to be with him. She was so happy she got to be there. She loved him so much. Although almost 2 years old , right before she passed away, they bonded and she loved being a grandma so much, bragging about how precious this baby was. 
Yoli worked in Ventura County Parks and Recreation. She loved her job. Even going through all her Cancer treatments she would still go to work with a smile on her face, never letting this cancer bring her down. Yoli went to all her doctor appointments with patience and again a smile that you would never think she was going through cancer. Going to these appointments from one doctor to another sometimes on the same day, driving herself at times, and never complaining. I was so proud of her. 1 year  almost to the day she started her first chemo they told her she did it, she was cancer free even telling her to ring the bell. We were so happy and excited for her.She was gonna start living the life she deserved being happy and spending time with her grandson. All this was short lived . Around 6 weeks after ringing that bell, Yoli was told her cancer spread and now very aggressive . She almost was going to give up, even after going to other doctors. But the only choice they had for her at this time, was to do more chemo but this time it will not be as aggressive . So she took the deal. This treatment helped her through months of feeling better. Yoli wanted numbers up front on how long she would have. Her doctors told her single digits. She said well lets see if I can beat that.
In August 2019  her friends and I decided to have a party for her. She would always call this her last party. I told her this was not your last party, but a party for you that you deserve to take your mind off the bad stuff for a minute. I told her it was a party for her to enjoy her life for this one day and know how much she is loved by so many of us. This party was very successful . All her family and friends were there. She had the best time. That was my goal.  So glad she loved it. I succeeded my goal.  I was happy to see her happy.  Sadly it would be her last party. 
After this her and I were talking and she mentioned she wanted to do a bucket list trip. She thought about it for weeks. One day she called me and told me where she wanted to go. She said she wanted to go to Chicago to go see a friend she called her warrior friend Joy. I introduced them by phone. They hit it off from really great from the beginning. Joy also had breast cancer, so they had this in common , fighting together at one time. They would become fast friends. So I was so happy for her decision and she said she wanted me to go on this trip with her. Then I was so honored and excited that she picked me to do this with her. This trip was so much fun. Joy made this so memorable for us. It was a trip of a lifetime. I'm so blessed we did this . We had the best time.
She would call this her last trip. Unfortunately it our last trip together . 
In January 2020 I started making plans for me to go see her, I live 3 hours away, so the plan was I would meet her in El Segundo on Feb 29, and we would drive to her house after a memorial that she wanted to attend so bad since this guy Marty was one of her closest friends that passed  away. She was suppose to do a eulogy for him , but on my way to meet her , she texted me and said she was in to much pain, she wouldn't be able to  make it, I said I will be at your house right after. Not knowing how bad she would be when I arrived at her house. When I got to her house that evening she was confused and in excruciating pain , I took her to hospital and from there her organs started shutting down real fast. I was by her side along with her son Bobby. I was with her for the next five days holding your hand, brushing her hair, and rubbing her beautiful face , as her breathing started slowing down, I knew it was getting close to the end. 💔 I'll always regret not being by her side , as she took her last breath by a few minutes , but I'm thankful I got to say goodbye and was able to be with for her during her last days . I will miss her so much. Thanks for being with me from the day I came into this world to the end of your life. My heart is broken . But God called you home, and I know your safe and no longer in pain, even if I dint want to let you go. You were my first friend. And you were my best friend at the end. Thank you sister for loving me as much as I loved you. You were my angel on earth now you are my angel in heaven.
