Virginia was born on April 24, 1913 in Ventura, California to Frank Stover and Clara Lassen Stover. She was a resident of Ventura for her entire life. Virginia attended Ventura College and subsequently was employed by both the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and Southern California Edison. She married John (Jack) Van Every on August 9, 1941. They remained happily married for 49 years. She loved her family, friends and a good card game. Virginia attended all of her children’s events and was enthusiastic in her support of them.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Van Every, brother, Richard Stover and sister, Elizabeth Stover.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Dowd (husband Merwyn) of Ventura; sons, John Van Every (wife Joyce) of Santa Cruz and Jeff Van Every (wife Susan) of Ventura; as well as many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Virginia lived a long, full and meaningful life. Her legacy is the wonderful love and care she provided to her children and grandchildren. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Graveside services will take place at a later date.
