Bob was born on February 12, 1948, at St John’s Hospital in Oxnard. He remained in Ventura most of his life. After graduating from Camarillo High School in 1966, he attended Humboldt University, served in the Marine Reserves, and later became employed by his father, James Carr in the family business, Carr Brothers Trucking. This was the beginning of a lifelong love of logistics and many successful business ventures. His creativity and vision in the trucking industry is unsurpassed.
Bob met the love of his life, Peggy Conroy, in Ventura during the early days when surfing was his real passion. They married in 1970 and had two sons, Matt and Chris. Peggy and Bob were able to travel extensively as Bob developed international relationships in the transportation industry. With an eye on the future, he was innovative in logistics and received much recognition for the impact he made on the industry.
Bob’s happiest times were working with his sons in logistics and coaching them in youth sports. He was always enthusiastic about fishing with his boys. He continued to surf most of his life and loved the ocean, a passion he passed on to his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Conroy Carr; son, Chris Carr; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kate Carr, and grandson Luke; sister, Susie Baum, and his mother, Arretta Carr. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carr and brother, Gary Moss.
