Patricia “PJ” Curley, of Ojai, CA, and Summit, N.J., passed away from a sudden fatal heart attack on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in Ojai. Her parents, Eugene Jennings and Irma Jennings preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, John Curley; sister, Irma Jennings and brother, Eugene Jennings; several cousins, nieces, and nephew; five stepchildren; and two grandchildren.
After college, PJ became a CPA and owned her own business. She found the love of her life in John Curley. Together they traveled and several years ago moved to Ojai. PJ quickly became an active member of this community. She enjoyed hiking, golf, the many art and film festivals as well as trivia and scrabble nights. She developed her writing skills and musical skills with the piano, supporting the Writers Workshops and Musical Festivals.
Her wonderful spirit, joy and talents will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 11:00 am until 1:00pm, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
Following the service, a reception in PJ’s honor will take place at their home, 403 N. Montgomery, in Ojai, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Parking is available next door at the Church of Christ, 406 N. Montgomery. PJ’s ashes will be scattered in the garden she loved.
All whom PJ touched, and those that loved her deeply will miss her loving personality, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile.
