In loving memory of Oxnard's well known "Cookie Auntie", Marianne Arnold, we have made a donation to her favorite charity, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Kanab, UT. 

Three generations of our dogs looked forward to seeing Marianne walking at the beach each morning. Although a very quiet woman, everyone knew when she arrived. First the sky would get loud with the sound of excited birds, racing to the parking lot where she would be waiting with their breakfast. The commotion would alert all the dogs of her arrival, and they too would race to see her for their cookies, belly rubs, and praise.

Thank you, Marianne, for making all the animals feel so very special. We are sure you have already been greeted in heaven with many wagging tails and kisses. You will remain in our hearts forever.

It is never easy to lose a loved one, I pray you find comfort in Gods promise found at John 6:40 which says that soon we will see all our loved ones again. My deepest condolences to the family.

Marianne and Sonny would stop at our studio on their early morning walks along the promenade at Hollywood Beach; Sonny for his biscuit and our hugs from Marianne.  I always kept biscuits on me in case I bumped into Marianne and Sonny.  I enjoyed our visits and chats.  Our prayers are with her family and Sonny.

Meeting Maryanne changed my life.. She will be with sonny and I on our walks:)

A posting below from Rob Wishart's Facebook page. Marianne was a beloved member of the dogs-and-humans group at Hollywood Beach. The group is called "Tank Nation after its gracious old Great Dane leader, Tank.

"Tank Nation has lost a great friend with the passing of Marianne Arnold at age 94. She was a regular on Hollywood Beach from the time she adopted Sonny early in 2012 until medical problems sidelined her last year. She always had a treat for every dog and a kind word for every human. Tank usually was the first to spot her and Sonny returning from a long walk and would lead the charge to greet her. Goodbye dear friend. You are missed."

My condolences to Marianne's family.  I will miss her terribly.  She was what a nurse should be.  May she rest in peace. God has gained another wonderful angel
