I worked with Lynda at HSA in the 90's.  During that time, we became friends, and I enjoyed family get-togethers, visiting designer open houses and critiquing them, and just having fun with her.

Sometimes we even included John, like the time she treated him to a birthday visit to the Getty Art Museum when it was brand new, and they invited me along.  That was great.  Thanks for letting me join in your family fun!

My love and sympathy goes out to John, Grey, Eli and all the family.  I know they will have lots of great memories of Lynda to share for years to come!

Mrs. Barry you were like a second mother to me. You brought me in to live with you on more than one occasion even though you didn't have to. In fact, you even took my dear Winston (my cat) in and loved him like he was part of the family. You even allowed me to bury him near one of your trees, and you honored him by naming the tree the Winston tree. 

And still, to the day you crossed over you were there for me. You reached out to me when I needed your support and I will forever be grateful for your kindness and loving heart. 

But you were more than just a second mom to me, you were a role model.  You taught me more than just unconditional love, but through example you taught me that hard work pays off, and that it is important to find and pursue my passion/s and to never give up on my dreams.

In addition to the lessons of hard work and determination, you taught me to not take things so personally, with the assistance of your eloquent directness. Only you could pull directness off as well as you did. You were so good it didn't even hurt my feelings when you would say things like you look a lot younger with short hair

Mrs. Barry you were one-of-a-kind and I know you will be missed by many.

Remembering Lynda and her beautiful kind spirit. Loving everyone that came into her life. We thank you Aunt Lynda for all of he love, fun and laughter you brought to all of our lives.

I had the pleasure of having Lynda as a second mom to me as a Mother in Law. She was so kind and intelligent yet so very modest and quiet. When she did share her views, I always found them to be profound and honest. She was the hub of her family that kept each connected. She would say to me "good morning honey" every morning while staying there. She loved art, specifically Renoir, and taught me a lot about it. I enjoyed very much talking to her about my day and hearing her perspective. When my dad had his stroke, Lynda made a whole 2nd thanksgiving meal so I could take it to celebrate with him at the hospital. When I was in the hospital, she yelled at the nurse for not doing their job and directed them the right way to do it and ended her sentence with "well!"  It was an honor to be your daughter in law.  It was an honor to meet such a fine woman and I love you very much.

My sister Lynda was a continuing source of love, caring and support to all in our family.  Lynda was modest about her own accomplishments, a loving wife and mother. She was a wonderful sister--loyal, intelligent and good.  She  followed the progress of all of her nieces and nephews from birth through college and adulthood, and in time expanded that circle to include their spouses and children. Lynda's unselfish and enduring love for her family, immediate and extended, is a model for us all. Rest in peace, dear Sister.

I will never be able to thank you for all of the time and love that you have given my family through the years. You helped to raise me and make me the man I am now. You will never be forgotten and you will always have a place in my heart. I love you Aunt Lynda.

Remembering my little sister with deep affection for all the wonderful times spent together throughout our childhood and growing our families.  Lynda was a caring soul who loved her family unconditionally. She will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know her. Your big sister, Susan

I am the oldest of the nieces and nephews. I have a special perspective of this loving wonderful woman. She loved, disciplined and financially supported us. I remember her friendship with a guy at her position at the "General Hospital" who was gay. Thru her I learned acceptance and love. I had many daily work related interactions with my Aunt Lynda while she worked with the County Recorders Office.
She always wanted to be a mother. I was blessed to be present when she received Grey. She could not have more been blessed. Our Grandma's "finger tip tamales" still ring in my ears for her blessing. 
I was also present for Eli's adoption. Unfortunately she had to leave him behind because the adoption would not be finalized for 6 weeks. I have never heard that sound that came out of my Aunt Lynda when she had to leave her son behind. I saw first hand what deep love was.  
You will always be in my heart.
