Leslie “Jim” French walked on at home May 27, 2012, surrounded by his family. Jim, a Native American was born in Picher, Oklahoma in 1942 and moved with his family to Ventura as a young boy. He was United States Navy Veteran. He was a civil service employee at Port Hueneme Base for 32 years.
He was a loving husband, father and mentor to many. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Rickie; daughters, Cherie and Lori; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brother, Tom; sister, Sharon and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son John, his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
The viewing will be held on June 3rd at Ted Mayr Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 5 P.M.. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 9th, 12:00 Noon at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
Following the services, a potluck will be held at 40 Rockaway Rd. Oak View beginning at 4 pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
