He proudly served our country in the United States Navy between 1962 and 1966. He supported his family as a plumber and was the owner and operator of About Town Plumbing in Oxnard, California. He was a building engineer at Hughes Research Labs in Malibu, California and later retired as building engineer at the county government center in Ventura, California. He was a passionate hiker, backpacker and camper and loved to share the enthusiasm he had for the outdoors with his family. There are endless mountains and trails throughout California which he has touched while taking nature into his soul. It is for his passion of nature that he spent his time in retirement living within and admiring the beauty of the natural and historical environment surrounding Helper and Price, Utah. He expressed his love by sharing his time and energy through acts of unselfish kindness. Instilling immeasurable love in others came naturally to him and he gave freely of himself to his family, friends and community. The touching experiences and precious memories he gave to us over his life will continue to comfort us with the awareness of his spirit living within and amongst us.
Friends and family may gather for a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the chapel in the Charles Carroll Funeral Home (15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, California). A reception will be announced at the service.
