Born in Encino, California, on August 19, 1971, Kyle has been a resident of Ventura since 1979. He graduated from Ventura High School in June 1990 and went on to become a machinist.
Kyle loved living near the ocean and enjoyed surfing, skim boarding and body surfing. He was also an avid snowboarder and spent a lot of time in Jackson Hole, WY. At one point Kyle worked for a company which developed new skateboard designs and he would advise and help develop innovative designs for the company.
Kyle also had a love for music and he had the opportunity to create guitars which he truly enjoyed.
He is survived by his mother, Heidi Winger, of Santa Paula, his father, Ray Rice, of Las Vegas and his sister, Michelle Dunham, who resides with her husband Kenny and their son Trevor, in Ventura.
He is also survived by his half-sister Laney Rice (son, Alex and daughter, Jadah) and Cynthia Covey (son, Ty) as well as his step-brothers Jason and Ryan Winger and Daryl Jones.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 10:30am at the Little Beach in Ventura located near the end of Spinnaker Drive, Ventura, CA (across from the Ventura Yacht Club)
