John Hill, born in San Jose, Ca on December 17, 1955 to Willard “Bill” and Joyce Hill, passed away suddenly doing what he loved, having fun on the lake on August 4, 2010. John was a long time resident of Ventura and graduated from Buena High in 1974.
How do you put in words how John has effected everyone he came into contact with. John is a man that will forever be remembered for his enormous heart given to everyone who needed a hand. His love for friends and family was first and foremost in his heart.
John’s love for his family was like no other. He would move mountains to insure everyone was taken care of. John is an amazing father. He had no trouble showing his kids that they were his world. John’s love will live on through them for all time.
John and his wife Patty of 13 years, were looking so forward to retiring next year and traveling in their motor home and settling down to enjoy their years together. John and Patty have a marriage like no other. Their devoted love and respect for each other was a sight to see. They truly adored one another.
John had a close nit group of friends that were like family to him. They all loved spending time together camping and taking their motor homes to fun places. He helped create so many great memories. Without being asked John was there helping everyone. Everyone he touched has been changed forever because of his love for life.
John had a passion for traveling, the outdoors, wood working, working on cars, and NASCAR. John was a very religious man and we know that he is surrounded by the love of the Lord.
John worked at Vons from the age of 16 and retired as a manager after 38 years. After he retired he continued to share his enormous wealth of knowledge and skill at motivating enormous groups of people.
John is survived by his wife, Patty Hill; children, Jeff Hill, Christina Hill, Megan Delzell and Scott Delzell; grandchildren, Darryl and Travis; father, Bill Hill; brother, James Hill, and John’s two four legged children, Maggie and Chance.
Lord, let those who John touched, live a life as full and impactful as he did.
“Blessed, oh Lord, for these thy gifts which we are about to receive, from thy bounty through Christ our lord. Amen. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Amen” John.
Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, 10800 Henderson Rd., Ventura. A reception will follow service at the family home.
