Our mother, Jeanne Ann Austin Beebe, born 16 September 1938, passed away Friday, 22 April 2016, in Roseville, California. She is the third daughter of Kenneth Smith Austin and Irene Ann Ward Austin. Jeanne was born in Wenatchee, Washington, and spent her childhood living in Las Vegas, Nevada. She met and married John “Jack” Ovando Beebe while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. They were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on 10 September 1957. Jack preceded her in death on 24 July 2004.
Jack and Jeanne loved the beautiful state of California, where they raised their five children. They were longtime residents of Ventura, where they owned and operated Central Pharmacy together. She and Jack worked tirelessly, side by side, to make their business a success. They worked hard and taught their children to do the same. She was the support behind her husband and children in all they did, and her desire in life was to see them all happy.
Jeanne’s influence spread beyond her family. She was creative and had an eye for the end result. As an excellent seamstress, she could take a piece of fabric and transform it into something beautiful. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a way with the youth and was loved by many, both as a young adult Sunday school teacher and as an early morning seminary teacher.
Jeanne is survived by daughter Jill Davis and husband John of Layton, Utah; daughter Janis Roskelley and husband Sam of Lynchburg, Virginia; son Jack Beebe and wife Tona of Roseville, California; daughter Julianne Beebe-Smith and husband Darryl of Long Beach, California; son James Beebe and wife Stacey of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; sister, Joyce Bryan, and brother, Jeffrey Kenneth Austin, both of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Janet Edwards, and a granddaughter. She found much joy in the accomplishments of her 19 grandchildren and her 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura on Saturday, 30 April 2016, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, followed by interment at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome
