A resident of Ventura, California since his birth on July 31, 1945. Jim has been recognized and known by many as a local business owner through G & S Building Supplies, in addition to his many charitable acts, including the restoration of Dennison Park for terminally ill children, Lodge BBQ Crew Children Hospital Donations, serving on the Ventura Unified School District, and involvement with Ventura County’s Lions Club, and his avid love and interest in flying. Marrying his wife, Helen (Hughes), in 1965, the Stallings’ rooted themselves with family and served in Ventura County and within its populace.
Jim lost his life after a long battle with cancer. He is now in the hands of his Heavenly Father, whom he has served.
Jim is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Kathryn (and Jimmie), Steven, Suzanne (and Daron), and Timothy (and Courtney); in addition, his five grandsons, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and one great grandson expected.
A Celebration of Jim’s life and legacy will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, 2:00 pm, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura, with The Reverend Gary Archer officiating.
