James Melvin Harvey, 82, of Ojai, California, passed away on October 18, 2013 in Ojai. James Harvey was born Mount Carmel, Illinois to Cecil Harvey and Dorothy Rapson on September 2, 1931. He went to school at Bakersfield, California. He married Penny Harvey on July 13, 1976 in Ojai. He was retired from the City of Ventura where he worked as a Building Inspector. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served on the USS Hanson in the US Navy. James Harvey is preceded in death by his parents. James Harvey is survived by his wife Penny Harvey: children Steve Harvey and Lori Peters: stepchildren Jeff Cooper and Greg Cooper: granddaughter Kristen: and great-granddaughter.
