After a lengthy battle with cancer, Gloria Rae Larson passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 24, 2012. Gloria was born in Long Beach, CA to Burch Orr and Thelma Crellin Orr. She was 71.
Gloria attended South Sioux City High School, in South Sioux City, Nebraska and worked as a carhop at her parents’ A&W Root Beer stand until she met and married Roger Larson in 1959. In 1962, Roger and Gloria relocated to California, living in Santa Paula, Oakview and ultimately settling in Ventura. Gloria worked at Will Rogers Elementary School as a teacher’s aide and in the classified department at the Star Free Press until finding her passion as a travel agent, a position she held for over 20 years.
Gloria will be greatly missed and always loved by those she leaves behind: her husband of 53 years, Roger Larson; her children: Dan Larson (and wife Ann), Dana Larson and Doug Larson (and partner Bill Matherly); grandchildren: Shelaine Warren (and husband Mike Warren), John Larson (and wife Maggie), Nicolaas Larson, Kristen Wilson, Miranda and Alexandra Taylor, Emma Larson and great grandchild Cody Warren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, CA 93003.
